Landslide in Uganda: 15 bodies recovered, many casualties feared
At least 15 bodies have been recovered from a landslide in eastern Uganda. Another 15 injured people have been admitted to hospital. More than a hundred people are still missing. According to the British media outlet BBC.
Local officials said that the landslide occurred due to heavy rains that started two days ago. Many are missing and it is feared that the death toll may rise.
The country’s Prime Minister’s Office confirmed this information on Thursday (November 28). They said that the landslide hit the Bulambuli district. At least 40 houses were completely buried underground. Several structures were damaged. Rescue operations are underway to search for the missing.
