Gaza death toll passes 44,000

The death toll from the Israeli aggression in the Palestinian Jaga Valley has exceeded 44,000. The Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera reported this information on Thursday (November 21) quoting the Gaza Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said that 44,056 Palestinians have been killed so far in the Israeli aggression that began on October 7, 2023. 104,268 people have been injured in the ongoing attacks by the occupying forces during this time. Most of the casualties are women and children. Meanwhile, the valley’s health department reported that 71 more people have been killed in the last 24 hours. 176 people were injured during this time.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army has launched a new horrific attack on Gaza. At least 66 people were killed after the occupation forces attacked Beit Lahia in the valley on Thursday (November 21). Most of them were women and children. More than a hundred people were injured in this attack. Initially, 30 people were killed after the attack. The death toll was later raised to 66, and it is believed that this number may rise further.

No details were immediately available about the attack. Neither the Gaza authorities, Hamas, nor the Israeli army have released any information about the attack. In addition, the media reported that 22 more people were killed in the Israeli attack on Gaza City. At least ten of them were children. Earlier on Wednesday (November 20), the occupying Israeli forces carried out an airstrike on the western Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. At least seven Palestinians were killed, according to Gaza doctors. Israel targeted a group of people in Al-Mawasi. Doctors said that the occupying forces still attacked a humanitarian area. At least one woman was reported to be among the dead.

On the other hand, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the country’s former defense chief Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The judges also issued an arrest warrant for Hamas leader Ibrahim al-Masri.

The move follows a request by ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan. He requested an arrest warrant against them for their involvement in the attacks on Israel and the Israeli military offensive in Gaza on October 7, 2023. However, Israel has rejected the jurisdiction of the Hague-based court and denied war crimes in Gaza. Israel has said it killed al-Masri in an airstrike, but Hamas has neither confirmed nor denied this. The Hamas leader, also known as Mohammed Deif, is also known as Mohammed Deif.

In addition, on Wednesday (November 20), the United States again vetoed a resolution at the United Nations Security Council calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. The resolution was voted on at the UN headquarters in New York. In this, 14 other countries on the Security Council voted in favor of the resolution, except for the United States. The draft resolution, originally drafted by the 10 permanent members of the Security Council, called for an “immediate and unconditional” end to Israel’s attacks on Gaza. It demanded an immediate ceasefire and the release of all Israeli hostages currently held in Gaza.
