Government to appoint 18,149 people
A total of 18,149 people will be appointed in BCS cadre and non-cadre. Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md. Mokhles Ur Rahman said that 12,710 people will be appointed in cadre posts and 5,439 in non-cadre posts. He gave this information at a press conference at the Secretariat on Sunday (November 24).
He also informed about the implementation of the High Court’s opinion on quota in new jobs. The Public Administration Secretary also said that the notification for the 47th BCS will be issued soon.

43rd BCS: The gazette of 2,064 people has been published in the 43rd BCS. The date of joining is scheduled for 01 January 2025. Since the gazette was published, discussions and criticisms have been created in various media regarding this appointment, further scrutiny is underway through the intelligence agencies – NSI and DGFI in the interest of appointing candidates with a ‘clean image’.
44th BCS: The oral examination of the 44th BCS was going on before 5 August. 11732 candidates passed the written examination. Out of these, 3930 candidates took the oral examination. This oral examination was postponed on August 25 due to the situation after August 5. Recently, after the formation of a new commission, it has been decided to drop the oral examination of 3930 candidates previously taken in the interest of greater transparency. Now, it has been decided to retake the oral examination of all the candidates who passed the written examination in this BCS, i.e. 11732 candidates.
45th BCS: 12789 candidates passed the preliminary examination of the 45th BCS. After the evaluation of the written examination answer sheets by the first examiner, the evaluation work by the second examiner was almost completed. Recently, after the formation of a new commission, it has been decided to evaluate all the answer sheets of this written examination by the third examiner in the interest of maintaining transparency and fairness in the evaluation of the written examination answer sheets.
46th BCS: The results of the preliminary examination of the 46th BCS were published on May 9, 2024. In this examination, 10638 candidates were selected for the written examination. In this case, in order to eliminate possible discrimination, it was decided to add the same number of candidates i.e. 10638 to the already selected candidates, and a total of 21276 candidates were considered eligible for the written examination and re-declared the results.
47th BCS: A request has been sent to the Bangladesh Public Service Commission to issue recruitment notices for 3487 posts in various cadres through the 47th BCS examination.
