Police file cases against 8,000 students

Police have filed a case against 8,000 students from various colleges, including Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Molla College, on charges of vandalism and theft of magazines loaded with bullets.

On Sunday (November 24), police sub-inspector AKM Hasan Mahmudul Kabir filed the case at the capital’s Sutrapur Police Station as the plaintiff.

The case alleges that on November 24, 7-8,000 students from various colleges, including Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Molla College, illegally gathered in a mob and created a riot with deadly weapons and weapons, vandalizing government property. They stole magazines loaded with bullets from government weapons (pistols), vandalized and damaged APC vehicles used for government duty.

They attacked police members on duty, threatened to kill them, and committed acts of sabotage by creating terror. In addition, the case states that a total of Tk 270,000 was damaged by vandalizing a police armored police car (APC) and a motorcycle of a police officer on duty. This brings the offence under Section 15(3) of the Special Powers Act, 1974, into the Penal Code.
