The IPL mega auction is returning after three years. And such an event means a lot of money. Although the auction was held in the United Arab Emirates before, for the first time, the franchises will come together in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to attract their favorite cricketers for three years.

The first day of the two-day auction began in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at 4 pm Bangladesh time on Sunday (November 24). A total of 577 people will get a place in the auction over the two days, but only 84 people will be picked on the first day. Indian Cricket Board President Roger Binny and Secretary Jay Shah were present at the event. Officials of the IPL Governing Council are also present. The auction part is being conducted by 47-year-old Indian woman Mallika Sagar.

She also played the role of auctioneer in the Women’s Premier League auction before the IPL mini auction last year. Therefore, the IPL authorities have trusted her for the mega auction as well. It is noteworthy that the mega auction is the first of Mallika Sagar’s career. Apart from cricket, he has also been seen handling the role of auctioneer in the Pro Kabaddi League.

Ten team owners have already attended the auction. Mumbai’s Nita and Akash Ambani, Delhi’s Sourav Ganguly, Rajasthan’s Rahul Dravid, Kolkata’s Banky Mysore, Dwayne Bravo are on the table.

Meanwhile, in the 2025 IPL mega auction, Indian star pacer Arshdeep Singh, who won the T20 World Cup, got a team on the first call. Punjab Kings added him to the team for 18 crores. His base price was estimated at 2 crores.

Arshdeep had scored 22 yards for Punjab Kings last time too. So Punjab retained last time’s cricketer using the Right to Match card.
