Ronaldo's goal, but Al Nasr still leaves the field with a defeat

Al Nasr are gradually slipping out of the Saudi Pro League title race. Despite their star footballers scoring one goal after another, their team has failed consistently. This time they lost to Al Qadisiyah in the league. As a result of this loss, Al Nasr is 6 points behind leaders Al Hilal, having played one more match.

Al Nasr lost 2-1 to Al Qadisiyah in the Saudi Pro League on Friday (November 22). Ronaldo scored the only goal of the day. But goals from Julian Quinones and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave newcomers Al Qadisiyah victory.

Al Nasr dominated the match held at Al-Awal Park. Nasr was ahead in everything from possession to attack. Al Nasr had 7 shots on target against 20. On the other hand, Al Qadisiyah managed to put 6 shots on target out of 10.

Al Nasr had the opportunity to take the lead in the 15th minute of the match. Angelo entered the D-box from the right. His shot at the far post narrowly missed the target. However, Ronaldo did not fail in the 32nd minute. The ball slipped through the hands of the Qadisiyah goalkeeper and the Portuguese superstar did not make a mistake in sending it into the net. This is his seventh goal in this league. In total, the 39-year-old star has scored 11 goals in 16 matches this season.

However, Al Qadisiyah equalized 5 minutes later. Quinones’ shot hit a defender and went into the net. The two teams went into the break with the goal tied. After the break, Al Qadisiyah took the lead in the 50th minute through Aubameyang. Quinones made a minus in the d-box of Nahitan Nandez’s cross. The Gabonese star headed the ball into the net.

In the 63rd minute, Angelo’s shot was brilliantly blocked by Qadisiyah goalkeeper Castayes. Al Nasr were once again disappointed when Maran’s shot hit the side netting in the 72nd minute.

With this loss, Al Nasr remained in third place with 22 points from 11 matches. Al Hilal and Al Ittihad are in first and second place with 28 and 27 points, having played one match less.
