A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed against newly elected US President Donald Trump for trying to change the results of the 2020 election.

Earlier on Monday, US special counsel Jack Smith urged the court to dismiss the case. He also requested that the case against Trump be dismissed for allegedly keeping secret government documents with him after his first term as president be dismissed.

However, Jack Smith has been fighting Trump in the US courts for a long time in both cases. Trump has been claiming innocence in both cases. In his petition to the court on Monday, Smith said that if Trump becomes president after winning the election, the case against him should be dismissed according to the rules of the US Department of Justice.

Trump won this year’s US presidential election by a landslide. He will be sworn in as president for a second term on January 20. He will sit in the White House. He will serve as president of the United States for the next four years. After that, the trial of the election attempt to change the results of the election against him can be resumed, said Judge Tanya Chutkan.
